From the darkness of despair to a life filled with light.

"The Power of Trauma" is written from the author's own perspective and experiences after having survived the most horrific car pile up in Canadian history, which killed 8 people on the 401 near Windsor September 3, 1999.

The near death experience stopped Ute Lawrence in her tracks and ended her 22 year career as a magazine publisher. This life changing event, her own struggle with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and the lack of information on where to turn for help has been the inspiration for this book.

The Power of Trauma is intended to help others who suffer from PTSD to understand their symptoms and to discover that the disorder is not a life sentence. Quite to the contrary.
